Will anyone at HUP lose their job due to these changes?

Pat Wren
Chif Human Resources Officer, HUP
Associate VP, Human Resources, UPHS
Due to careful business and workforce planning, there will not be any layoffs at HUP or PPMC due to the relocation of the Trauma Program. Staff may elect to stay at HUP by applying for openings in different units or departments. However, our goal is to relocate the exceptional Trauma Center and its clinicians to PPMC and minimize any loss of talent and expertise within the Program.

HUP Senior Leadership is working with Chairs of the Clinical Departments to identify new business opportunities to replace the Trauma volume that will move to PPMC in January 2015. It is expected that it will take a while to regularly fill the beds that are now occupied by Trauma patients. We will communicate our plan once the analysis and business plan is completed. We are fortunate that there continues to be a high demand for our services in this region.
